Life Update 6: The (Tentative) Return

It’s been a long time since I spent any time on this blog, and while I have good reasons for that, seven months isn’t exactly what I’d call a short absence.

To find out what I’ve been up to in that time, you can check out my main blog here, but here’s the abridged version of the story. When I first moved to Japan, everything seemed crazy. My entire life had be turned upside down, and I had to spend weeks – if not months – adjusting to the new reality.

And despite living in the country that creates it; I had very limited access to anime. I was restricted to the DVDs I had brought with me, and even if I had two sleeves full, about 30% of those were live action.

I also found my time very limited. I was living in a new country, with a new job and new friends, so it was challenging enough maintaining one blog, let alone two. Because of that, I prioritised the travel-centric one so I could let my friends and family know what I was doing on the other side of the world.

I also have Japanese classes to contend with, and currently, studying takes over most of my free time.

But all work and no play is never a good thing, and recently I regained access to anime again. I definitely won’t be posting to the same extent as I was two years ago (nearly ten series per season is a little ambitious), but I’m hoping that I can gradually start updating this blog again.

I should still be writing for IgirisuJen but I doubt that I’ll be back to weekly posts for a while, purely due to the fact that I’m an adult and quite often living life gets in the way of writing about it.

I hope to see you soon! – Jenny

  1. I checked out your other blog Jen. Nothing but beautiful shots of Japan. Looks like you’re having the time of your life there. Enjoy :).
