[FIRST IMPRESSION] Attack on Titan Season 3

Plot:

Recovering from their latest attack, Eren and the others stay in a small hideout in Titan territory. Hanji carries out experiments to discover whether they’d be able to put Armin’s plan into action, using Eren’s hardening ability to seal the hole in Wall Maria and taking back Shiganshina from the Titans. Pastor Nick is found murdered in Trost District, with Hanji suspecting that the Military Police were guilty thanks to signs that Nick’s killers had tortured him before he died. Levi is also suspicious, surmising that people within the government are trying to take down the Survey Corps for fear that they’ll discover Historia’s true identity. Erwin tips off Levi from inside the Interior. He’s been arrested and they’re next. Quickly, everyone evacuates just before the Military Police show up. They head towards Trost, trying to keep Eren and Historia safe, but they both appear to have been abducted… Meanwhile, Levi comes across a figure from his past: the serial killer, Kenny the Ripper.

In an alternate version of Tokyo, where beings known as Ghouls hunt and eat people, Kaneki Ken leads a relatively normal life. After their date, he walks her home… and soon realises she wants him for completely different reasons. She’s a Ghoul, but before she can kill him, she’s crushed by falling scaffolding and dies. [FINAL IMPRESSION] Spring 2017 春

For me, finding new series to watch in Spring 2017 was more difficult than usual, thanks to my list of rules that I’d decided to follow. But it was a challenge that I was more than happy to accept, and even if I wouldn’t have usually chosen a few of the anime I’ve watched, it’s definitely given me a break from the countless high school series out there.

To check out my first impression of each series, click the links in the titles.

[REVIEW] Attack on Titan Season 2

Attack on Titan Season 2 is Spring 2017’s most eagerly anticipated series by miles, and quite possibly the most eagerly anticipated sequel in anime history. Four years, two live action movies, two spin-off series and a video game later, the franchise that took the world by storm in 2013 doesn’t look like it’s about to slow down.

[FIRST IMPRESSION] WorldEnd

Plot:

What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save us? In a world of airborne islands and anthropomorphised animals, a man named Willem Kmetsch lives on the outskirts of society. To avoid the island’s prejudice of ‘disfeatureds’ he keeps a low profile… until he saves a girl’s life. When promised a large sum of money, Willem reluctantly leaves the island and takes a military job to pay off his debt but it’s nothing like he imagined. He is given the role of caretaker for a weapons warehouse, but when he gets there, he doesn’t see any weapons. There’s only a group of young girls, and a couple of familiar faces.  It is revealed that the children are the weapons, and now it’s Willem’s job to look after them.

Spring 2017 Anime: Looking Ahead

With a new anime season fast approaching, I’ve decided that this time, I’m going to set myself a few rules.

I’ve recently hit my milestone of watching over 100 anime and looking at my list, I have a bit of a diversity problem. Sure, my taste ranges from Akira to YuruYuri, but I definitely tend to stick to what I know.

So I’ve proposed four rules to follow when choosing what to watch this season…

[REVIEW] Shingeki no Kyojin 84 SPOILERS

After concluding the last chapter with Eren and Mikasa’s mutiny against Levi’s orders, tensions are high in the Survey Corps. The surviving members argue over who should receive the Titan serum: Armin, who was left severely burned and critically injured after his attack on the Collosal Titan, or Erwin, who emerged from his suicide mission against the Beast Titan on the brink of death.

Shingeki no Kyojin [Chapter 70] 進撃の巨人 SPOILERS

Last month’s chapter saw the election of Historia Reiss, a.k.a. Krista Lenz, as the true ruler of the walls. Given her birthright and her success in killing Rod Reiss’ titan form, she was accepted as queen easily. Two months later, and she remains the figurehead of the government, which is now run by the Survey Corps.
